Communication Guidelines

Solidarity Giving was launched in 2016 to support and defend America’s civic values. It distributes approximately $15M annually in flexible funding to organizations that advance social justice while centering Black, Indigenous, people of color, immigrants, women and families, and people experiencing poverty. Solidarity Giving is part of the Wildcard Giving Family and complements the work of its two sister organizations, Sunlight Giving and Acton Family Giving.

Because priorities may shift from year to year, we ask that you continue to think of your Solidarity Giving grant as one-time support, and ask for your understanding if we do not renew your grant after the term.

We try to be as unobtrusive as possible so our grantees can do their best work. We do not require any reporting, presentations, site visits, or donor cultivation. Please do not worry about sending us materials unless we ask

We will reach out if we have specific questions to learn about the field and issues at large. If you have questions about your grant, please email your program officer or contact partners@solidaritygiving.org.

Unfortunately, we do not have the capacity to meet in person. We also do not attend fundraisers, galas, or other events.

Solidarity Giving is enthusiastic about supporting your work, and our goal is to keep public attention focused on you, not us.

If it is helpful to you, you are welcome to use Solidarity Giving’s name on your donor lists, in annual reports, and on your website. We respectfully request that you refrain from public communications (press releases, social media, blogs, email blasts, newsletters) focused on Solidarity Giving and/or a grant from the fund.

Please use the name "Solidarity Giving". You do not need to reference Fidelity Charitable.

Solidarity Giving's logo is available for download and for use on donor lists and annual reports. Please contact us for permission for other uses. 

We typically will not approve requests for public communications (press releases, social media, blogs, email blasts, newsletters) focused solely on Solidarity Giving and/or a grant from the fund.

On rare occasions, we will participate in a communications piece focused on a campaign or initiative where we are mentioned as supporters in conjunction with other donors. If there is an opportunity you would like to discuss, please contact us.

Please send all requests to partners@solidaritygiving.org at least 10 days before your internal due date.

Solidarity Giving reserves the right to alter and/or decline any proposals.
